Food About Town

This week on the podcast I talked to Terra Keller from Foodlink about the upcoming Festival of Food event being held next Monday at the Public Market. We had a good time chatting and ended up getting along swimmingly as Terra is food obsessed like I am and the causes Foodlink are supporting are directly benefiting the community. This week on the Food About Town podcast I talked to Jason Barrett from Black Button Distilling during their massive renovation of the space next to Rohrbach’s Brewery near the Public Market. We discussed the renovation, the plan for their products at launch (citrus forward gin, wheat vodka and moonshine [white whiskey]) and future plans. For Episode 6 of the Food About Town podcast, I talked to Heidi Grenek from Moonlight Creamery in Fairport, NY and got to talk to one of their employees about an event they were preparing for. We discussed the start of their business and how they feel they are part of the community with charity work and not only employing young people but working on developing them as well. For my first interview on Food About Town, I sat down with Chef/Owner Paul Vroman from the Brick N Motor food truck the day before the first Food Truck Rodeo of 2013 to learn more about his background and the regulation battles in the area.
