U.S. Senate candidates Republican Senator Deb Fischer and independent Dan Osborn announced endorsements from labor groups Tuesday. Fischer touted endorsements from 13 labor unions and trade associations, which include the Nebraska Farmers Union, Nebraska Hospital Association and the State Troopers Association of Nebraska. Meanwhile, Osborn announced support from 23 labor unions, including the Nebraska AFL-CIO, United Auto Workers and Communications Workers of America.

A new internal poll from independent Dan Osborn’s campaign found his race with incumbent Republican Sen. Deb Fischer within the margin of error. The poll, conducted by YouGov between July 31 and August 12, showed Fischer with 43% and Osborn with 41% of 500 registered voters. Most national election forecasters continue to show both Nebraska Senate races as solid Republican.

Jodi Gibson with the Nebraska Department of Transportation said the Nebraska Infrastructure Hub was developed to help local and state agencies apply for money from the Infrastructure and Investment Jobs Act. The Hub includes a grant pairing portal and two full-time staff members to assist communities with grant applications.

Walz was born in West Point, Nebraska, and has lived in Valentine, Butte, Chadron and Alliance. Tuesday morning, Eddy announced she is endorsing independent Dan Osborn, who will face incumbent Republican Senator Deb Fischer in the general election. Eddy said polling indicated she did not have a path to victory, and she supports Osborn’s view on marijuana legalization.
