In the UK students will be sitting public exams for the first time a since 2019.  This means that the current year 13s won’t have done GCSEs and many teachers that have joined the profession haven’t taken a cohort through the exams process and this may mean there is some additional apprehension about the whole process.  With this in mind I thought I would start this term with a week of short podcasts that look at ways to make revision effective and engaging.  I am starting with an interview with

This week Dr Jo Taylor from Psychology Associates joins me to discuss supervision.  Most importantly what supervision is (probably not what you expect), how it can really benefit school staff, the barriers to implementation and how we can overcome them.  We discuss the challenges and complexity of the school environment and how supervision can give teachers space to think slowly about problems, unpick emotions and improve practice at whatever level they need.
