After a dry start to the month of June, this weekend will bring much needed rain chances to the region. The storm chances start Friday evening with some storms on the stronger side. This starts off in the Dakotas in the afternoon then makes it's way into Minnesota over night.

Tracking a slow moving front

The eastern Dakotas will have the best chance of any showers and thundershowers on Friday afternoon and into the evening. The front will be sliding slowly through Minnesota on Saturday. I'm seeing more cloud cover and a chance of showers and thundershowers mainly in Minnesota and southeastern South Dakota on Saturday.

The smoke in the air is tough to forecast when it will finally move out. With that in mind, our weather will be very quiet and mild this weekend if the smoke does dissipate. Otherwise we'll be looking at sunshine through a smoky haze in the air for some of us over the weekend.

A large area of lower pressure will keep a big part of the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest dealing with showers, thunderstorms and wind this weekend. Some of the bigger waters will likely have some decent rollers to contend with when searching for fish.

I'm not seeing Saturday as a wash out. This system will likely pull in some dry air to parts of the region leading to some of us dealing with periods of rain showers while others have some dry periods of Saturday. If you do have outdoor plans in the region check the radar before heading out. Most of us won't have a whole lot of wind to contend with on Sunday. I'm only seeing a slight breeze for western Minnesota and parts of southeastern North Dakota and the very eastern edge of South Dakota.

The month of April looks to continue the cool temperature trend this weekend. Temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s for most of the region Friday with rain moving to the east. Heading into Saturday not only are temperatures staying cool, but the wind picks up especially in the Dakotas.

Another late winter system will be pushing through the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest to finish out this week. Snow and wind with some areas receiving rain and wintry mix look likely on Friday. The bulk of the accumulating snow with his low pressure system will fall in northern Minnesota as well as northeastern North Dakota. A few snow showers may even linger across far northeastern Minnesota and Wisconsin on Saturday morning.

The winter storm will bring rain, freezing rain, and snow to the region Friday. Winds will be blustery as well as this system passes through. Some places in eastern South Dakota could end up with upwards of 10 inches while Minnesota could see a large swath of 2-6 inches with some areas picking up even more. Sunday will feature a wide range of temperatures.

Snow for Wisconsin with quiet weather for the rest

We'll close out this work week with a little milder air and less wind. I'm seeing a few gusts here and there into the lower teens, but most of the region will have some lighter wind speeds all day Friday. Temperatures will climb into the 50s in southern South Dakota. The rest of the region will hit the mid to upper 30s and then some 40s to the south. Overall, I'm seeing a fairly quiet and mild close to this work week.

After a couple rounds of snow early this week we are tracking yet another system to bring snow to the Dakotas, Minnesota, and more of the region. Moderate to even periods of heavy snow along a warm front will move through North Dakota and into Minnesota on Saturday.

The overcast skies continue into Friday evening but besides that conditions remain quiet. Saturday finally brings back the sunshine for most of us, with highs in the 20s and 30s. Going into Sunday we turn our attention to a system bringing in snow and breezy conditions throughout the Dakotas and Minnesota.

Sun and warmer temperatures return

After this weeks winter storm, we get a much needed break from the crazy weather. Friday will bring a quick moving system into southern Minnesota and Wisconsin but nothing near as intense as the storm we just had. Besides that temperatures will be very cold Friday with some areas staying below zero the entire day. Heading into Saturday we look at a lot more sunshine in the region. By Sunday temperatures warm up even more with a lot of places having highs in the 20s.

Temperatures will start to warm again for nearly the entire region. I'm seeing just slight breezes here and there, but Saturday is generally looking to be a great winter day in terms of weather. I'm seeing more sunshine than clouds with most of the area reaching near or above freezing. This weekend will feature dry conditions and above seasonal average temperatures.

By the later half of Friday we'll be on the tail end of the fast moving clipper that passed through the region. Winds will stay breezy for most of Minnesota and parts of the Red River Valley throughout the day on Friday. Cold air makes a return this weekend and looks to last for a while.
