The latest release from M. Night Shyamalan finds a young girl and her parents taken hostage, whilst vacationing in a cabin, by four armed strangers - who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With some excellent performances from leads Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge and Dave Bautista (special mention as well to young star Kirsten Cui), this anxiety inducing story does have bright sparks, however, I couldn’t help but feel a tad underwhelmed overall.Full thoughts in

The X Files is one of, if not my all-time favourite show. It’s very near and dear to my heart - and in this episode, I thought I’d revisit the feature length film that dropped in 1998- which I think is bloody ace. Managing to balance between pleasing the die-hard fans and the average audience member, the film has a tonne of great moments which only elaborates on the already established government conspiracy within the show. It is being said that no other tv show will have a better episode this year than the latest episode of ‘The Last Of Us’ – and I wholeheartedly agree. Titled ‘Long, Long Time’, this is easily one of the best pieces of television I have seen. Move over Chucky, there’s a new doll in town! M3GAN brings the scares and thrills, but also an incredibly moving and emotional element – something I wasn’t expecting at all within this release! Released in 2022, 'Barbarian' got A LOT of people talking – sadly, I wasn’t one of them! Having finally checked the film out, I am kicking myself that I didn’t give this a watch on its initial release. Written and directed by Zach Cregger, this is easily one of the best horror/thrillers in a long time. The intensity is all there, as well as a great structure, and performances from the cast. We return to the 'Saw' franchise to discuss what is a lot of peoples favourite of the bunch; 'SAW II'. With a slightly bigger budget, the second instalment added more twists and turns, as well as excellent performances from Tobin Bell (who gets a much bigger role in this one) and Donnie Wahlberg. Dropping on Netflix at the end of 2022, 'White Noise' sees Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig thrown into chaos when an accident leaves an air born toxic over their town. With themes of life, love and death, the film has some thought provoking aspects, however the film does feel a little mish-mashed and not all worked for me – even though the spectacles are pretty eye catching! David Harbour is Santa Claus.. and there’s some season’s beatings to throw down! If you are a fan of Die Hard and Home Alone – or pretty much any action film ever (and a fan of Christmas), then I’m pretty sure you are going to have a fun time with this release. One of those ‘sit back, switch your brain off, and enjoy’ kind of movies. For the most part, it does work – there’s just a little padding here and there that slows the film down, BUT David Harbour as Santa is just an absolute win. Catch

The Walking Dead has aired its final episodes! With call backs, endless emotion and variant walkers, the send off was probably the perfect way they could’ve capped off 11 seasons of storytelling. There were a few things the last 8 episodes that didn’t work for me, but this didn’t hinder the final outing as it not only closed off the main show, but put us on a good trajectory for the spin offs that are coming our way – and boy, the last 5 mins of the final episode has me SUPER excited.
