Winton House thanks Diana Clapperton who leaves after...

Diana, who worked on the Information Desk at Winton House, completed her last shift on Monday 30 June after 17 years. She was thanked with flowers by Winton's Chair of Trustees, Dr Richard Phillips. She’s not cutting down though, as she is still active with dementia causes and singing. She explains to Mike Waddington about volunteering when Gail's Brewery in Horndean, was taken over. On Friday 27 June the new Petersfield Police station was opened by Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones, Acting Chief Constable Sam de Reya, Damian HInds MP and Councillor Chris Paige, Petersfield’s Mayor. The Town Crier proclaimed the opening. The public front counter will be open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday and as30 officers will be based there, people can also use the yellow phone and speak to someone in the building. On Saturday 26 July the 21st Stroud Revels takes place from 4pm to 11pm. The family holiday to Vienna at the end of May was disrupted when Rob Shepherd, husband of Shine Radio's Laura Shepherd, fell and broke his leg. He needed hospital care, a major operation and then transport home. He is on the mend now, four weeks later after a two week stay in a Vienna Hospital. Travel Insurance is vital and he highly recommends it and his phone was a vital piece of equipment too. Despite the serious injury - he has a lengthy scar - he enjoyed the Vienna he got to see!See
