UPDATE JULY 11th 2022.My friend Aubrey painted me a picture of a lady bug and dropped it over last night. I featured the story of Aubrey and my friend Esther in a recent podcast.The painting is going up on my bedroom wall next to a painting Aubreys Mom Amber Hicken crafted for me a few years ago. I heard about this book almost from the minute it was published back in the day. I live in Boulder Co and the author is a local hero and a highly respected intellectual.Many friends and family members encouraged me to read Under the Banner of Heaven, but I dismissed as a hateful screed against the church I love and slandered it on my blog as "horrid". Jenny Marie Hatch Concert for those who mourn

My friend Sherri passed away about 15 months ago. She had brain surgery a few days before she died. During the hour she was in surgery I sang these songs to calm my spirit and give me hope. I also wanted to send her loving supportive energy and keep her constantly in my thoughts. An hour of dedicated singing did all of this and more. I was able to commune with the Holy Spirit and when she actually left for the spirit world I was much more reconciled to reality. I hope this humble offering captured
