I'd originally thought that I wouldn't be able to get out this week. However, once I realized that I was surplus to requirements for preparation for my eldest daughter's prom. I inquired if it was possible to fish Wednesday night as normal as long as I was home by lunchtime time. This will be my first 3 nighter for a while and hopefully get me out of the struggling times I'm going through at the moment. It's going to be a social with Ian as well, so we are looking to be fairly close and on the back of the cold north wind. I arrived sometime after 0915 and had a good look about, I then called Ian about our options as he was about 30 minutes away. I then headed onto one of the islands we can fish off, as this felt like an ideal option. I would take a closer look

The wife has returned from her adventures and there’s a break in the horrendous weather conditions. I’ve popped out for a night before the next weather front moves in tomorrow morning with heavy rain. It certainly goes to show you that all lakes fish differently from each other or it is just my luck! However, I’ve never caught in heavy rainy conditions and I generally don’t bother with wet weather gear. I arrived around noon and turned left, I headed for the main car park, there were only 2 cars

I arrived down the lake this afternoon, and unless someone was on the south part of the complex (that I can't see), I'm the only one here. After a good walk around the areas I fancied, and quite a bit of thought regarding fishing the same swim as last week. I decided that it was the best option. The wind was swinging around in all directions, and that certainly wasn't going to help. The temperature was going to be ok, with the exception of tomorrow but I could deal with it for one

I’m home all week as my wife’s away for work and I’ve switched around my 3 working days, so I can get out for a day session. I was interested in one of the four swims going out into the Big Lake. The first one had a day angler pitched up in, I wandered down to the third swim, which took my fancy. I then headed off down to the end swim, I didn't really fancy that swim, as it was due to be extremely hot for the coming days and that swim is very exposed. My swim choice was around shade again. However, I had packed my Fox Camo Tarpaulin and could use that. It was very useful when we were camping in Wales the other week

I was able to get down the lake again for a couple of nights, thanks to Mrs. H for understanding my obsession. Ian arrived on Friday afternoon and it was a Bank Holiday weekend: time was limited, the weather was finally getting warmer plus pre-spawning captures which meant the lake was pretty packed with 15 to 18 anglers on 64 acres. You may laugh, but that’s packed for here. Ian had managed a low 28lber on his first night. --- Send in a voice message:
