Governor Tate Reeves has signed a bill that will restrict panhandling into law. The "Safe Solicitation Act" will give law enforcement recourse when solicitation disturbs the peace. When it goes into effect on July 1, panhandlers who wish to solicit in public spaces must obtain a solicitation permit from their local municipality.
