Greater Manchester Police say one of the two men killed in an attack on a synagogue in Manchester yesterday was shot by an armed officer. The Chief Constable, Sir Stephen Watson, said a second member of the congregation was also being treated for a gunshot wound - but his injuries were not life threatening. Armed police shot dead Jihad al-Shamie - after he drove a car through the gates of the synagogue, started stabbing worshipers and threatened to detonate what appeared to be an explosive device
