The DeSoto County Sheriff's Office received word that Kane Mays, and a vehicle stolen during the crime, were believed to be at a home in Pecan Ridge Cove from New Mexico and initiated a search warrant. Detectives found the stolen 2015 Subaru and other evidentiary items. Mays confessed to driving the stolen vehicle from New Mexico to the home.
