The debt ceiling bill must traverse a tortured path to become law. Nothing's guaranteed quite yet. But presuming it becomes law, it will put defense and non-defense spending under caps in place, even with a military pay raise staying in place. Contractors are already analyzing what it all means, as is Federal Drive host Tom Temin, along with his guest David Berteau, President & CEO of the Professional Services Council. Federal Drive host Tom Temin talks about this with Sanjay Patnaik, who says CDC reform should include a way to make CDC

One of the biggest obstacles for small businesses to work for the Defense Department is the need for a facility clearance. It comes down to the old chicken or the egg discussion. The Federal Drive with Terry Gerton ·

If the U.S. Treasury runs out of money to pay all the government’s bills because of the debt limit impasse, no one’s exactly sure what it would mean for federal agencies and employees — after all, it’s never happened before. But key federal stakeholders want answers before things get to that point, and at least one is taking the government to court over it. A federal judge in Massachusetts will hear oral arguments next Wednesday in a lawsuit that argues both that federal employees must be paid even
