A service of remembrance was held on Friday 15 August – VJ day – to mark the end of the Second World War. The ceremony was led by the Rev Will Hughes who used his address to remember sacrifices made, difficult choices, the horrors of the camps for Prisoners of War and Hiroshima and Nagasaki. A charity cake sale recently awaited patients, staff and visitors on arrival at Petersfield hospital. Jo Gray, who had donated a bake for the fundraiser, went along to meet fundraiser organiser Melissa. She works in the hospital's Rowan Ward for Age Concern, a role funded by the NHS. We also hear from a patient and staff buying cake.
