The ROOST - The Place for All Things Volunteer

This is the recording from the Dec 19, 2019 information session for our 2020 Teams Intensive. This course is by invitation only and is primarily targeted to folks who completed The AARP Way in 2019 (Letting Go and Inviting Volunteers into Leadership). You must have a volunteer partner to participate. The deadline to express interest is January 15, 2020.

In this episode, OVE's Tara Shaver talks with Nancy Andersen (MT) about her efforts to cultivate “community ambassadors.” These folks are volunteers in rural areas who represent AARP in their communities. Participating volunteers draw on resources that meet the interests and opportunities in their communities. At this point, they are mostly ‘one man bands’ but the hope is that, over time, they will evolve into rural volunteer teams.
