From his early start as a volunteer to his current position as the director of DryHootch, Otis serves as a first responder to veterans who need our help. Dr. Ted OReilly is the medical director for Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, which brings veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit their memorials. On a September, 2021 flight, four buses of veterans and their guardians had finished their tour and were on their way back to the airport, when the buses came upon a bad car accident, with a victim lying motionless on the shoulder of the road. Dr. Ted, in the lead bus, saw what was happening, made the buses stop, and jumped out. He immediately resuscitated

Greendale firefighter and paramedic, Brian Peterson was having dinner with his wife in Waukesha on Sunday, November 21, 2021 when he saw a vehicle driving erratically through the Waukesha parade route during their annual Christmas parade. For his lifesaving efforts on that day, and for demonstrating why first responders deserve our respect and appreciation, Brian Peterson is one of our WaterStone Bank Salute to Service honorees for 2022.

Mollie Ritchie is a nurse practitioner who works for Emergency Medicine Specialists group. In her role, she serves all the emergency rooms for Ascension in southeastern Wisconsin. In her career, she has served as a trauma coordinator, EMS liaison, and has fostered relationships between local police and fire departments. On January 13, 2022, Milwaukee Police Detective Andrew Wilkiewicz was off duty and at a local restaurant when an assailant entered the restaurant and attempted to rob a female delivery driver. Detective Wilkiewicz confronted the individual, engaged in a physical altercation, ultimately being shot two times in the abdomen.

Shortly before the Coronavirus pandemic began, he was promoted to Lieutenant. A member of the Heavy Urban Rescue Team, he has been involved in a significant number of rescue operations.

Our first WaterStone Bank Salute to Service honoree this year is a great example of the dedication and commitment required to be a first responder during the challenges of a world-wide pandemic. Marco has worked tirelessly through the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the civil unrest in the city of Milwaukee over the last year working for Paratech Ambulance (now Midwest Medical) as an EMT and also as a part-time firefighter-EMT for the New Berlin Fire Department.
