Pete Alonso just hit his 300th career homer — a solo shot in the ninth that tied the game and sent the crowd into frenzy — but it wasn’t enough as the Mets fell to the Orioles in extra innings, 7-4. After a back-and-forth battle featuring early homers from both sides, Alonso’s blast reignited the Mets’ fight, only for Baltimore to answer with a three-run inside-the-park homer in the 11th that sealed the win. The Mets’ late rally fell short, leaving them looking to avoid a sweep tomorrow

The Detroit Tigers are on fire, torching the Toronto Blue Jays 10-1 in a statement win that proves they’re not done yet. With six straight victories, they’re clinging to playoff hopes—four and a half games back with just twelve left. Their pitching was lights out, offense lethal, and young stars like Hao-Yu Lee, Riley Greene, and Spencer Torkelson delivering clutch hits. Even as veteran Kyle Finnegan struggles, the team’s heart and grit keep them in the hunt. Meanwhile, the Guardians’ walk-off

Jefferson Rojas, the Mets’ top prospect, exploded onto the Triple-A scene with a fiery debut for Syracuse, crushing a 361-foot homer in the second inning and adding a single that scored a run. Despite striking out three times, his power and clutch hitting stood out. Since his trade from the Cubs, Rojas has been unstoppable in the minors, slashing .280/.336/.593 with 9 homers and 29 RBIs — a massive leap from his Cubs days. With the minor league season winding down, he’s poised for a strong

Pete Alonso, once a Mets legend, is now an Oriole—and he’s back in New York to face his former team. After the Mets declined to re-sign him, fans erupted in cheers for Alonso while demanding GM David Stearns’ firing. The Orioles’ win crushed the Mets’ playoff dreams, and the emotional tribute from Citi Field only deepened the sting. Comparisons to the 1977 trade of Tom Seaver loom large, reminding everyone how deeply this move stings. Alonso smiled through it all—calling his Mets days

Jefferson Rojas exploded onto the Triple-A scene in his debut, smacking a single in his first at-bat and then launching a jaw-dropping two-run homer in his second — all while leading off the lineup. Just six weeks after joining the Mets via trade, the former international free agent is already crushing records, hitting 25 homers this season (including 10 since arriving) and on pace for 30. After a slow start in Double-A, he’s now dominating at the highest level of minor league ball, proving

Bryce Eldridge lit up the scoreboard with his 17th home run of the season — a two-run blast off Andre Pallante that shifted momentum in a tight game. Alec Burleson added his 23rd solo homer, sending shivers through the crowd. It was a night of fireworks and field brilliance from both sides. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow:

The Diamondbacks added Jesus Sanchez off waivers from Toronto to fill their 40-man roster, but had to send struggling prospect Tommy Troy down to Triple-A Reno to make room. Sanchez, a lefty with solid stats against right-handed pitching, is expected to start as a DH to bolster a lineup that’s lacked power against righties. Troy, despite his defensive versatility, hasn’t produced offensively in limited MLB action. With Carroll and Nootbaar already anchoring the outfield, Sanchez’s role is

Baseball fans had a thrilling September 15th as pitchers Sean Manaea and Shane Baz delivered electric performances, striking out key hitters while also surrendering clutch hits — including solo homers to Christian Encarnacion-Strand and Juan Soto. Defensive gems like Gunnar Henderson’s slide and Jared Young’s unassisted double play kept the momentum alive, while lesser-known players like Grant Wolfram made big plays with strikeouts and pickoffs. Sacrifice flies and bat-tracking data added drama

With the team chasing a wild-card spot, Sanchez brings急需 offense—especially against righties, where he boasts a .775 career OPS. He’s pumped to join the push and even gets a little extra fire from facing his former team, the Marlins. To make room, outfielder Tommy Troy heads down to Triple-A Reno. The D-backs open

Shelby Miller’s comeback bid with the Cubs has ended, as he couldn’t meet the bullpen’s demands after only one successful back-to-back pitching day. With time running out for postseason play, the team now turns to other pitchers like Justin Steele and Gavin Hollowell — both sidelined by weather or rehab delays — hoping they can step in if injuries strike. Meanwhile, Dansby Swanson’s return is on hold due to rain, adding another layer of uncertainty as the Cubs juggle health, weather, and

Mets Add Depth With Cairo | New York Mets News

Pete Alonso is back at Citi Field chasing his 300th homer, with Francisco Lindor hot on his heels at 299 — imagine both hitting triple digits in the same game, especially if the Orioles pull off a win. But why are the Orioles still starting underperforming players like Hinds and Pozo instead of giving their young lefty arms crucial platoon reps? With Shane Baz already struggling for run support, it’s hard to see how this lineup can turn things around. Meanwhile, the Mets’ stacked offense — led

Christian Cairo, son of former MLB star Miguel Cairo, has officially joined the Mets organization and is headed to Triple-A Syracuse to prove himself. While his path to the majors hasn’t been easy—marked by solid contact and walks but inconsistent batting averages—he’s got a chance to follow in his father’s footsteps, who built a 10+ year career with the Yankees and Mets. With defensive chops and on-base ability, Christian could carve out his own legacy in New York, making this a classic

Pete Alonso’s return to Citi Field feels like a homecoming with a twist—he’s chasing his 300th homer, but the Mets’ future is anything but certain. While their offense, anchored by Binge, Ewing, Lindor, and Soto, remains potent, the pitching staff is a glaring weakness. If they want to challenge in the NL East next
