Well there you have it - officially done with the first competitive Gran Fondo for me. How did I do? By the pure numbers terribly, but how do I feel about it - well let’s talk about that shall we…So yeah, for my age group I was at the bottom, not the last person but not that far away from being so. For 2024 I am giving myself a cycling challenge - seeing how close I can get to qualifying for the 2024 Gran Fondo National Championships.In 2023 I didn’t do much on the bike - thanks to well, life, work, and any other excuse I could come up with. Next year I need to re-energize my approach to being on the bike and to give my training a specific goal - instead of training just because.I have never cycled competitively so this will be a big shift for me, but I’m looking forward to the journey.
