A Prayer to Remember God Is in the Great Outdoors

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/10/06

Biblical scholars estimate Jesus taught in nearly 150 different outdoor settings; from mountainsides and shorelines to roads, fields, rivers, and wilderness. His parables were full of wildflowers, birds, mustard seeds, fig trees, and stones. The natural world was not a backdrop for His ministry. It was part of the classroom. Matthew 18:20 offers one of Scripture's most expansive definitions of church: wherever two or three gather in His name, there He is. Not wherever a building has been dedicated,

A Prayer for Quiet Trust in God

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/10/05

Long summer days carry a particular quality of stillness — golden light that seems to shimmer in the distance, steady heat that slows the pace of everything, the world resting under an unhurried sun. It is not always dramatic or exciting. It is simply present, consistently, quietly doing its work. Gardens grow. Crops inch toward harvest. And none of it requires our attention or approval to continue. Isaiah 18:4 draws on exactly that imagery to describe God's presence: He will remain quiet and

A Prayer to Recommit Your Marriage

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/10/04

Sitting on a porch with a grandmother whose decades of faith were as steady as the chair she sat in, sharing the honest truth that sometimes it is difficult to actually like a husband even when you love him — and receiving in return one of the most practical and profound pieces of marital wisdom available: every day, choose to recommit to your marriage. Not once at the altar, not when things are going well, but every single day as a daily act of the will. That grandmother had stayed in a

A Prayer to Protect Your Words

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/10/03

Most of us know the feeling — the words left our mouth before we thought them through, and the moment they landed we wished we could pull them back. A sharp remark in an argument, a piece of gossip shared too freely, a heated message sent before we took a breath. Words carry tremendous power to encourage and to damage, and the gap between the two is often just a moment of pause we did not take. Psalm 141:3-4 is one of David's most relatable prayers: set a guard over my mouth, Lord, keep watch

A Prayer for Single-Hearted Focus in a Busy Season

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/10/02

The enemy does not need us in open rebellion to keep us ineffective. Distracted and scattered is enough. If he cannot make us bad, he will make us busy — busy enough that the two things that matter most get quietly crowded out by the many things that feel urgent. Martha was not doing anything wrong, exactly. She was serving, working, being the responsible adult in the room when Jesus was visiting. But Jesus saw beneath the activity to the real problem: she was worried and upset about many

A Prayer for Making Minutes Matter

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/10/01

A driver unwilling to wait a few minutes for a train to pass tried to race across the tracks and did not make it. Those few minutes cost him his life. It is a stark and sobering picture, but it opens a question worth sitting with: how seriously do we take the minutes we are given? We tend to think that five minutes here and ten minutes there are too small to matter. But five becomes ten, ten becomes twenty, and before long a habit has formed — and a habit becomes a lifestyle. Ephesians 5:15-16

A Prayer for Transformation from the Inside Out

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/30

Sanctification — being set apart, made holy, conformed to the image of Christ — is not a self-improvement project. It is the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the life of every believer, and 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 makes the most encouraging promise imaginable:the One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it. Emily reminds us that our position in Christ is forever fixed — nothing can snatch us from His hand. But while we rest in the finished work of the cross, we are also

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/29

Sitting on a porch in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico, a woman shared through a gifted translator that she had been praying for over a year for someone to come and fix her roof. She had never imagined the answer would arrive in the form of a group of people from South Carolina — but that is how God works sometimes, on a different timeline and by a different method than we could have anticipated. For the person listening, who had grown frustrated after only a few weeks of waiting for clarity about

A Prayer for Endurance in Suffering

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/28

Autumn is a season of beauty and anticipation — cooler temperatures, the approach of the holidays, the warm rituals of the season. And for some, it is also a season layered with grief. A father murdered. Two miscarriages. Hard losses that do not fade simply because years have passed or because faith is genuine. Pain does not ask permission before arriving, and it does not spare believers from its weight. Second Corinthians 4:17 does not promise that every painful circumstance will soon improve

A Prayer to Be Honest When Talking to God

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/27

A daughter watching her mother walk through the pasture behind the house, apparently arguing with no one, asking afterward if she had been praying — because she seemed pretty annoyed. The answer was yes. The pasture is where the real conversations with God happen: the grievances aired, the frustrations vented, the things that are not easy to dress up in polished spiritual language. For a long time, that kind of raw honesty felt irreverent, even shameful. So sweet platitudes took its place

A Prayer to Have Mountain Moving Faith

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/26

Harold had a purple crayon that could bring anything into being — a bicycle, a friend, an entire world drawn from imagination. Children accept that kind of possibility without hesitation. But somewhere between childhood and adulthood, imagination and faith both tend to quietly diminish, and the things that once seemed possible begin to feel out of reach. The Christian walk, however, is built entirely on believing in what cannot yet be seen — which is why cultivating faith is not

A Prayer for Strife in Friendships

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/25

When a close friend begins to embrace theological views that feel like a personal betrayal, the temptation is not always to lash out directly. Sometimes it is subtler — social media posts crafted in response, conversations with others about what is happening, a quiet but determined effort to be the one who is right. The behavior can be dressed up in the language of righteous anger and concern for truth, and it can feel entirely justified from the inside. But James 3:16 names what is actually

A Prayer of Gratitude for the Gift of Seasons

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/24

Psalm 104 opens and closes with the same three words — Praise the Lord — and in between, it builds like a rising crescendo of awe, moving through the wonders of creation until it arrives at verse 19 with a brief but breathtaking observation: He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down. No human effort required. No maintenance on our part. The celestial caretaking is entirely God's, and it has been functioning in perfect balance since the fourth day of

A Prayer for Contentment in All Areas of Life

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/23

A simple question from a trusted friend — "What is your life's passion?" — has a way of revealing what we have not been willing to see in ourselves. The automatic answer was to serve Jesus. But the honest follow-up question cut deeper: how? And in the honest examination that followed, a quieter, less noble passion surfaced — one shaped by a childhood in poverty and the fear of returning to it. Working, succeeding, and making enough money had quietly become the driving force,

A Prayer to Welcome Autumn

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/22

Autumn is the season of watching the old leave so that the new may appear. It arrives with a bittersweet quality — a farewell to the vibrancy of spring and summer, a slow surrender to the approaching grays of winter, and in the middle of it all, an extraordinary display of color that makes us almost forget what is actually happening. The old is not simply fading. It is being blown away in one of the most glorious processes in all of creation. Second Corinthians 5:17 gives language to what

A special episode from "On The Ground" with Samaritan's Purse As believers, we trust in God—we don’t trust in ourselves or in our own understanding. Franklin Graham joins his daughter-in-law in the studio this week to share updates from across the ministry and how he stays grounded leading Samaritan’s Purse. In a world where it is easy to get bogged down by trials and uncertainty, we are to focus on what is eternal, depending fully on the Lord for strength and direction. In this

A Prayer for the Days You Want to Give Up

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/21

Nobody explains that the days before a funeral are full. Phone calls, decisions, forms, food, people in the kitchen, a program to approve, flowers to choose. Grief has a to-do list, and you work it because the working is what holds you upright. And then it is over. The casseroles go into the freezer, the cards pile up on the counter, everyone returns to their own lives — and for the first time, there is nothing left to do. And you realize that life has changed and will not change back. Not

A Prayer for Confidence That God’s Help Will Come...

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/20

Psalm 28:7 arrived as a gift during a quiet morning devotional time, hours before that exact conversation had to happen: the Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. It is one of Scripture's most direct and personal declarations: not that God might help, or that help is available under certain conditions, but that He helps. Present tense. Reliable. Already present before the hard moment begins. It is the confidence that God will be with us and will go before us in

A Prayer to Discover Wonder in Your Routines

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/19

Late summer and early fall bring a familiar rhythm: school schedules resume, new work projects launch, church programs begin, and the calendar fills back up almost immediately. Routines become necessary to manage it all. Over time, those routines become automatic. The mind moves through them almost without noticing, and gradually, the whole of life can shrink down to the level of a to-do list. The wonder hidden inside the ordinary goes unseen, not because it is not there, but because we have stopped

Your Daily Prayer ·

2026/09/18

The book of Ezekiel was written during one of the darkest chapters in Israel's history. During the Babylonian captivity, the people were weary, rebellious, and spiritually dry. Their hope had been decimated. And yet, into that exact condition, God sent a messenger of truth and hope, and made one of His most remarkable promises: I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. Not because Israel had earned it, but for His name's sake. God pursues people not because they deserve it,
