Miller"s Woods was not a large woods, as woods go; and by no means could it be called a forest. But it was a goodly collection of oak and elm and ash and pine.A lone, stately hickory tree dominated the grassy glen which was the heart of the woods. Grandpa Miller always said, "The animals who live therecall it Edgeriver Woods." And Grandpa knew of such things,for he loved animals. He had studied them all his life.
