Dr. Taïssa Danilovich talks about Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars, a stage that all stars up to 10 solar masses evolve onto late in their lives before dying as white dwarfs. As these stars are relatively cool, complex molecules which would be destroyed by hotter stars can form around them. She discusses the molecules that are formed from the gas ejected by the star's solar wind, and what they tell us about the environment around the star, as well as the composition of interstellar dust
