If You're Still Balding in 2026...What Are You...

SoberNotSoberPod ·

2026/09/30

We kick things off with a genuine séance for Caleb Williams and his hamstring — because if prayer works, a full-blown spell cast has to work better, right? From there, things spiral into a rant about the state of online advertising: the aggressive balding ads, the "we lied" TikTok Shop hustle, and how ad agencies have completely lost the plot. We also get into what makes a podcast authentic (and why we physically couldn't fake it if we tried), followed by a deep dive into a classic AP World thought

This one gets real. We sit down in the therapist's chair and actually talk about it — the never-ending loop of work, bills, and just trying to survive. Why does everything cost money just to leave the house? Why does it feel like you have to sacrifice your time, your energy, or your sanity just to get ahead? And if you don't have a trust fund or a backing, what are your actual options? We also break down the Chicago Bears dropping 59 points in week one (Caleb Williams is him), why paying $465 for

It's the one-year anniversary and we're celebrating the only way we know how — in suits we hate wearing, with scotch we can barely afford, and a 9/11 joke that should've stayed in the drafts. We reflect on 52 weeks of consistency nobody asked for, how we've grown as people (debatable), and why we still make zero money doing this. This week: Grant drops some big news about Animal Crossing that nobody saw coming, Mekaylay goes feral over Buc-ee's and won't shut up about it, and we somehow end up

What would you give to experience your favorite things for the very first time again? This week, Grant and Mekaylay take a nostalgic trip down memory lane, revisiting the movies, games, albums, and moments they wish they could wipe from their minds just to relive the magic. From the first dragon kill in Skyrim and the jaw-dropping opening notes of Childish Gambino's "Awaken, My Love," to Happy Feet, GoldenEye marathons after trick-or-treating, and the electric rush of a first Fortnite Victory Royale

SoberNotSoberPod ·

2026/09/02

It's the big 5-0 and we're celebrating with golden snitch cookies, tequila, and absolutely zero composure. Grant and Mekaylay kick things off debating pre-gaming culture before diving into the legendary story of Sheldon — the most polite man on the phone who turned out to be a 6'5" Nigerian bodybuilder who benches 350 for fun. Mekaylay shares a dream he had about Grant showing up to the pod in full drag, Grant confesses to having two laundry baskets in his bedroom, and Mekaylay recounts the time his

Grant and Mekaylay are back with a sprawling episode that somehow connects Rascal Flatts Halloween costumes to the meaning of life. The duo debates the hierarchy of light beers (Miller Lite vs. Coors Banquet vs. Dos Equis), discovers that Harley has never had blood drawn, and Grant shares a traumatic childhood story about a Ciprodex allergy that turned his ear into a golf ball at Boys & Girls Club. Mekaylay reveals his own baby-era allergy to Augmentin before open-heart surgery — which Grant

Grant kicks things off with a controversial confession that rocks the anime world — Fullmetal Alchemist is officially a 10, not a 9.4. From there, the boys pour into a deep dive on New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc (Saint Clair, Marlborough, $20, way better than Kim Crawford), the difference between bourbon and whiskey, and why Grant's stomach can't handle corn-based spirits. Mekaylay brings his "movie of the summer" pick — Minions and Monsters — which turns out to be a plot-heavy gay love story between

Grant and Mekaylay are back with zero agenda again and its the last time. This one's a wild ride from start to finish — kicking off with a spirited (and slightly unhinged) review of the new Spider-Man movie that somehow devolves into a full-blown debate about Marvel's entire cinematic universe. Which movies actually matter? Should you skip the Thors? Is Civil War secretly the best one? Grant breaks it all down while Mekaylay plots his watchlist and Harley judges from behind the camera. From there,

Happy Birthday, Leo King | SoberNotSober Ep.46

SoberNotSoberPod ·

2026/08/05

Grant walked into this episode having already done three shots of tequila. Mekaylay walked in completely sober. One of them is turning 27 today. This is that episode. The birthday chaos kicks off before they even hit record — Mekaylay set up a tequila trick where Grant was told two glasses were water and one was tequila. Spoiler: they were all tequila. Grant figured it out mid-second shot and still finished the third. Producer Harley somehow ended up being the mastermind. Nobody won, everybody

This week, Grant and Mekaylay are back on the couch (a very expensive, very large, 14-foot couch, for the record) with Harley & Domino in the booth per usual. We kick things off with Grant's ongoing war against people who cannot say his name correctly. One syllable. Four letters. G-R-A-N-T. Not Brandt. Not Brandt. Not Tyler. After a trip to Hawaiian Bros ended in a full-on identity crisis at the pickup counter, Grant has developed a very specific — and very controversial — theory about who

Mekaylay and Grant are back for their most vulnerable episode yet — and somehow also one of the most unhinged. They kick things off by choosing THIS podcast over a presidential address (their words), before diving into real talk about the broken American healthcare system — specifically the infuriating red tape that disabled people face just to get the basic equipment they need to live. Then things get personal. Mekaylay opens up about the night his dad had a massive stroke on his 60th

Grant and Mekaylay are back, and this one's got a little bit of everything. The episode kicks off with the boys trying — and immediately failing — a no-cussing challenge, which becomes a running gag throughout the entire show. From there, the conversation spirals into the 2026 World Cup. They both somehow end up rooting for Norway because of Erling Haaland. Along the way, Grant describes perhaps the most unhinged six-second commercial he's ever seen: Lowrider Lawyers — a genuine fever dream of an ad

Welcome back to Sober Not Sober, the podcast where two best friends keep it completely unfiltered, occasionally try to be better people, and almost always fail in the most entertaining way possible. Episode 42 is here, and after a little time away, Grant and Mekaylay return to the mic rustier than a park bench in a rainstorm — and we mean that in the best way. Before we even get into the good stuff, the duo attempts to do an entire episode without dropping a single curse word. A noble goal. A

From there, Mekaylay takes a detour to the casino with their buddy Taylor, swapping war stories about the one time they walked out of Talking Stick up $800 because a dealer told them to leave. Grant and Mekaylay are back for episode 39, and this one gets nerdy — in the best way. Grant runs through his full anime tier list (yes, there's a ranking system), makes a case for why Vinland Saga and Frieren deserve your attention, and challenges Mekaylay to guess which show is the anime: a brutal Viking saga about a boy watching his father get murdered, or a sci-fi thriller about scientists dying and the night sky sending Morse code. Mekaylay kicks things off with the most cursed 48 hours imaginable — a dying guinea pig, helping his severely disabled dad get ready in the morning, a bird repeatedly flying into a client's windows, hundreds of moths taking over a house, and two baby quails dead on the back patio.
