Episode 111: Too Many ChoicesWe have more choices than probably any generation before us. Netflix gives us thousands of things to watch. Amazon gives us hundreds of versions of the same product. AI can give us five different ways to solve the same problem. We have more career paths, more ways to make money, more things competing for our attention, and more information telling us what we should be doing with our lives. Having options is supposed to be a good thing, but at some point, having more

Episode 110: The Numbers That Aren't the PointLast week, I talked about community and why having the right people around you can make the difficult parts of the journey a little easier. This week, I'm pulling back the curtain even more and talking about something that can make those difficult parts feel a lot worse: the numbers.Whether you're writing books, running a podcast, building a business, posting online, or trying to turn something you enjoy into something bigger, there is always another

Episode 109: CommunityLast week, I talked about imposter syndrome and what happens when success finally starts showing up but you still question whether you deserve it. This week, I'm looking at something that can make that journey a little easier: community.A few weeks ago, I attended Port Chester's Unity Day, an event that's been bringing people together for longer than I've been alive. Being there made me start thinking about the different communities I've had throughout my life and the one I've

Episode 108: Am I an Imposter?Last week, I talked about whether we should follow the money. This week, I'm reflecting on something that can show up even when things are finally starting to go right: imposter syndrome. As my books continue to reach more readers, generate consistent sales, and receive encouraging reviews, I find myself asking a question I never expected to ask: Do I actually deserve this? Instead of simply appreciating the progress, I catch myself refreshing rankings, checking reviews,

Episode 107: Follow the Money?Last week, I talked about what happens after reaching a goal you’ve been chasing for a long time. This week, I’m looking at a different question: should we follow the money, or should we follow something deeper?Money matters. It pays bills, creates stability, and can give us the room to build the life we want. But money can also pull us into jobs, businesses, trends, and choices that don’t align with who we are.In this episode, I reflect on moments from my own life

This week, I find myself facing a different question: what happens when you actually reach a goal you've been chasing for a long time? After earning as much from my writing in the first week of June as I did during the entire previous month, I started reflecting on the strange feeling that comes after achieving something you've worked toward for years. 🎙️ Books By Josh Audio Immersion — Episode 105The Moment Effort Becomes EvidenceThere is a strange feeling that comes when something you’ve spent years building finally begins to show signs of life. Not overnight success. Not a viral moment. Just tangible evidence that the work you’ve been doing all along actually matters. In this episode, I talk about what it feels like to finally see progress after years of writing, podcasting, and creating. Recently, some of my books started gaining traction,

Episode 104: The Internet Made Everything Feel UrgentWhy It’s Hard to Think Clearly AnymoreThe internet changed everything. It changed how we communicate, how we learn, how we shop, how we work, and even how we think. In many ways, it made life easier. We can access information instantly, connect with people across the world, and create things that would have been impossible only a few decades ago. But somewhere along the way, convenience slowly became expectation, and expectation turned into

The Books By Josh Audio Immersion — Episode 103Being Solo In All ThisWhat It Really Costs to Build Everything YourselfThere’s a version of creative work that feels more structured than it actually is. From the outside, it can look like there’s a system behind everything—people handling different parts, processes keeping things moving, a kind of quiet support that makes it all feel manageable. But for a lot of creators, especially early on, that version doesn’t exist. In this episode, I talk about

Episode 102: My Recent BooksWhy I Don’t Stay in One LaneThere’s a version of creative work that people usually see—the finished piece, the story as it’s presented, the final result that feels complete. What doesn’t get seen as often is everything behind it. The ideas that didn’t fit anywhere at first, the shifts in direction, and the moments where something pulls you into a completely different lane than what you were just doing. In this episode, I take some time to talk through the books I’ve

Episode 101: What This Actually Looks Like Day to DayThere’s a version of consistency that sounds clean when people talk about it. Structured. Focused. Productive. But living inside it doesn’t feel like that.In this episode, I step away from the idea of consistency and walk through what it actually looks like in my day to day life. Episode 100: The Part Where You Didn’t QuitThere are moments where stopping would make sense. Not dramatic moments. Not failures. Just quiet points where nothing feels like it’s working, and continuing feels optional. In this episode, I reflect on the difference between almost doing something and actually staying with it long enough to see where it leads. Because most people don’t quit all at once. They drift. They check out. They tell themselves they’re still trying, even when the effort has already

2026/03/17

As I approach Episode 100 after nearly a decade of working on this show, I found myself reflecting on something that is easy to miss while you are in the middle of it: progress does not always feel like progress. Most of the time, it feels slow. It feels repetitive. It feels like you are putting in effort without seeing much in return. You show up, you create, you try to stay consistent, and still, it can feel like nothing is really changing. But when you step back and look at it over a longer period

Creative Burnout, Losing Motivation, and Staying Consistent as a CreatorBurnout is something almost everyone experiences at some point, but it rarely looks the way people expect. It does not always arrive dramatically. Sometimes it shows up quietly in the form of exhaustion, doubt, and the simple feeling that you no longer want to do the things you once cared deeply about. In this episode, I speak honestly about a period of burnout I’ve been going through after recently losing my job while still

Episode 97 – The Version of You That Got Left Behind

Growth is often talked about as something purely positive, but real growth is more complicated than that. In this episode, I reflect on the quieter side of becoming someone new — the parts of yourself, the motivations, and sometimes even the people that don’t make the journey with you.As we grow, we don’t just add new skills or clarity. We also lose familiarity. Old versions of ourselves fade, not because they failed, but because they were built for a different season. I talk about what it feels

2026/02/10

In this episode of The Books By Josh Audio Immersion, I sit with a simple idea that keeps resurfacing in different areas of life: you may be right, but there’s a wrong way to do right.Because correctness alone does not guarantee clarity. And reaching the right outcome does not always mean we took the right path to get there. This episode is not about winning arguments or proving a point. It’s about noticing how truth is delivered, how goals are pursued, and how shortcuts often cost more than they
