The Regrettable Century

Chris, Jason, Kevin, Ben

The old forms of the Left are moribund and the new forms are stupid. We"re making a podcast that discusses the need to organize a Dialectical Pessimism and develop a salvage project capable of sparking a new workers" movement for socialism. A clean, honest, and unsentimental melancholy is required; we are cultivating one and would like to share it with you. The Regrettable Century ·

2026/09/24

This week the boys sat down to do a close reading of an article by the Kritikpunkt Team titled Fascism? For What? We deal with the age old question, is fascism on the rise and if so why? From the article: "Hitler and his associates ruled by perverted means because they were evil, and with their malice they were able to win over their masses. Today there are evil people again, and they must not be allowed to take power, because then one would once again have to submit to non-democracy. Such is the

Enough Is Enough: Degrowth, Capitalism, and...

The Regrettable Century ·

2026/08/26

This week the boys sat down with Dean and Matt from The Magnificast to discuss their new book. From the editor: Capitalism's excessive patterns of production and consumption are fueling the biggest existential threat to humanity: climate change. The central assumption of our current economic system puts economic growth before all other values. But infinite growth on a finite planet is fundamentally impossible. We must embrace the idea of degrowth. With a name like "degrowth," misunderstandings are
