Wow. I can’t believe it’s October already! I truly don’t know what happened in August through now because I have been so ridiculously busy with so many things. In my last update, we had just gone to CHOP for a vascular anomaly appointment and had a biopsy of his Port-Wine Stain (PWS). Mid-August we finally […]
This week has been one for the toilets. It started out with an urgent care trip that turned into an all-day ER visit, then a follow-up with my PCP, only to be given a bunch of meds and sent on my merry way. Long story short- I am fine. I had some blood in my […]
I woke up this morning and realized- holy crap, it’s MARCH. The last time I posted was in November, which I swore I was going to be better at my posts, but I have been insanely busy with being the primary caregiver of Greyson, taking both kids to tons of appointments, keeping the family functioning, […]
October left almost as soon as it came flying in. It’s really crazy to believe we are on the 11th month of 2025 already! The kids loved trick-or-treat night this year. We programmed Greyson’s communication tablet to say “Trick-or -Treat” and “Thank You”, which made everyone in the neighborhood so happy. He was really impressed […]
It’s finally time for spooky season….AKA my favorite time of the year! I love when the mornings are crisp and the afternoons are warmer, only to end the evening with the fall chill in the air. Fall also brings colorful leaves, steamed apple cider and the best thing EVER invented- the pumpkin cream cheese muffin […]
Time hates me. I am absolutely convinced. I got up this morning, completely believing that today was August and school was about to start in a short two weeks. Man was I wrong….. Seeing June on my calendar today was a sour punch to the gut of my reality bubble. Not only have we had […]
“I don’t know how you do it.”- It’s probably the one question I am asked on a regular basis from people that I know AND from people that I don’t know. Many of my friends and followers see that I blog/record my entire life and the kid’s childhoods, for both them and myself, but many […]
Well, hello 2025 and all my wonderful readers! I spent the end of 2024 extremely busy with the launch of The Wizard of Roz, selling books, shipping books, starting (and ending) a new job, continuing to work at my part-time job, and taking care of Greyson and Roslynn. The New Year has been much of […]
The last few weeks have been extremely busy for our family- we are back into the school routine, choir is up and running weekly, my sister’s wedding, Derek and I are working tons and we have lots going on with the kids and their care/services…..OH, and did I mention that we have a book launch […]
If you’ve been alive for more than 18 years, you probably understand how health insurance works, or at least understand the concept of it. What you may NOT understand is that most health insurances are split into two (sometimes three) separate smaller companies for separate coverages. For example, say someone has Capital Blue Cross for […]
About two weeks ago, Derek and I were informed that Greyson was going to need to take about two weeks off from the Autism Center he attends daily. The staff that works with him needed two weeks to regroup and find new ways to work with G so he would have less self-injury and aggression […]
Alas, another school year is complete and we are officially into summer solstice as of today! Our days are getting longer, the sun is shining brighter and the mid-Atlantic area is fully embracing the first heatwave of the season. Roslynn had a wonderful 3rd grade year and did fantastic with her first year of PSSA […]
Once the holidays are finally over and the groundhog makes his (or her) predictions, I typically just gracefully fall into Spring. Especially years like this one when Easter is "early" and is in March, I tend to lose track of time and then BOOM- summer is here. Summer break for the kids begins the last...... Continue Reading →
...Bliss. Or even remotely close to it. Throughout the 7 years, 6 months, 4 weeks and 2 days that Greyson has been on this Earth, Derek and I have heard it all. From "he is the sweetest, cutest, most loveable boy", to "I don't know how you all raised that child" or "doesn't he do...... Continue Reading →
Don't worry- Greyson and Roz's hair color will be changed! In my previous post, I was beginning to speak about the Children's Book series based upon our family that is currently in production. A few months ago, I was contacted by a producer and long-time friend, Mike Axe, who has been following my blog for...... Continue Reading →

Summer just ended, right? Seriously. Where does the time go?! I looked back at my last post and realized I missed September and most of October! To say we have had a lot going on, is a complete understatement. So much has happened since mid-August and trying to stay on top of it all is...... Continue Reading →
...my 7 year-old had the police called on him. Yes, you read that correctly. Our 7 year-old non-verbal autistic child had the police called on him by our lovely neighbors. Now, I'm not the type of person who feels that they need to justify their child's behaviors (I used to, but now do not), but...... Continue Reading →
In February of 2022, Greyson had a VNS implant placed for his seizures. The device is implanted into his chest like a pacemaker, with a lead around his vagus nerve to tell his brain to stop seizing. This far, the device has helped a bit, successfully stopping several seizures since its placement. The problem with...... Continue Reading →
It’s the time of year that most parents dread, especially parents of special needs children- Summer Break from school. June 6 was the last day of my sanity, when the kids were released from school for the summer. Roslynn was already set for summer since we signed her up for camp in Ephrata for 8......
