I Am The Sun: An African Film Podcast

Justin Harrison joins Vada Huff to talk about the 2022 surprise hit, Saloun! This is a deceptively dense heist movie. This is a great example of how to make a genre movie into something more while still being fun ride at the same time. A quick warning: Saloun gets into serious and triggering topics and we discuss it throughout the episode.Justin Harrison - https://justinsharrison.journoportfolio.com/ and jseanharrison on socialsVada Huff - https://linktr.ee/vadahuffLogo - Zack CurlTheme

Vada has brought Patrick Ripoll (Tracks of the Damned and 96 Greers podcasts, Genre Grinder)  and Amanda to the show for a chat about the iconic, Touki Bouki! This is one of the most important and influential and flat-out coolest films, not only of its era but ever made. There is on screen animal violence in the beginning and in several other moments throughout the film too. Trans Equality - https://transequality.org/Trans Lifeline - https://translifeline.org/Trevor Project -

Vada Huff's long awaited new podcast is finally here. I Am The Sun: An African Film Podcast debuts with a Sembene classic, Xala! This is a modern set political folktale about ED and other things too. Bandamlak Yimenu joins Vada and Joel for a chat about this acidic satire. Editor's Note: The audio is inconsistent, tried my best to fix it.Trans Equality - https://transequality.org/Trans Lifeline - https://translifeline.org/Trevor Project - https://www.thetrevorproject.org/get-help/Vada Huff
