Magical Thinking

Am I Old Yet? — Comedy audio drama ·

2026/09/17

This time, I'm going to take a leaf out of the playbook of one of my favourite podcasts. It's called "Sorry About the Murders" and it's hilarious. Every episode, the announcer gives a list of topics covered in the episode. It's pretty much always the same list of things, like drunkenness and murder. That won't work for Am I Old Yet? Because Helen gets up to different stuff as she goes. This episode, a long telephone conversation with her daughter Janey, contains references to - wait for it

Helen and Janey are back, teasing each other as they do. Janey's father Philip has been visiting her, and Philip and Helen meet up to discuss a whole range of things and... well, you might as well just listen.Oh, by the way! I've set up a short (I promise you, very short) survey which would mean the world to me if you could spare a few minutes to fill in. https://amIoldyet.com/surveyYou heard Wendy Lap as Katie, Roy R Carruthers as Philip, and Flloyd Kennedy as Helen, Janey and Ilse. The music is

Where's Helen, and Who Wants to Know?

Am I Old Yet? — Comedy audio drama ·

Helen has been missing in action, as far as her family is concerned, and they are concerned, so they decide to hunt her down in her lair, so to speak. This week's episode features guest artists John Warner as Jonathan, Christopher McDougal as Charlie and Erica Sanderson as Susie. Just a wee reminder: we are totally unfunded by external sources, so I'm only able to paythese actors a pittance, believe you me. So if you'd like to help support them, why not drop a fiver or just $1, in

The Art of Wittering

Am I Old Yet? — Comedy audio drama ·

2026/07/02

Helen hasn't been all that productive since her accident (Season 12), and her oldest friend and ex publisher/boss Joey (from college days in the 1960s) challenges her to try something different. Instead of writing life affirming poems about the natural world, why not create a horror story? Everybody else is doing it, after all...Episode 4 of Season 13, "The Art of Wittering". I admit, I thought of the title when I was writing Scene 1, and then it took off in an entirely different
